MADRID, 26 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish rider Enric Mas and the American Matteo Jorgenson will lead the Movistar Team in the next edition of the Tour de France, which starts on July 1 in Bilbao and ends on the 23rd on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, as announced on Monday by the telephone team in a statement.
The team led by Eusebio Unzué will be made up of Enric Mas, Matteo Jorgenson, Nelson Oliveira, Antonio Pedrero, Ruben Guerreiro, Gregor Mühlberger and two Basque cyclists, Gorka Izagirre and Alex Aranburu, who will start the ‘Grande Boucle’ from ‘home’. The Basque Country will host part of the route of the first three stages of the French round.
The runner-up of the last Tour of Spain, Enric Mas, from the Balearic Islands, will seek to make up for his abandonment in 2022 and improve his best result in the French race, fifth place in 2020, for which he will have the help, among others, of Matteo Jorgenson , the 23-year-old North American who debuted last year on the Tour with a twentieth position and is being one of the revelations of the season.
In this edition of the great French round, the Movistar Team will use its new ‘Iceberg’ kit, white in color and produced by Gobik for sustainable and charitable purposes. The clothing is made with 60% fabrics from recycled plastics, making it the most sustainable ever used by a team in the race.
