MADRID, 29 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Madrid Mayor José Luis Martínez-Almeida assured that it is “unfair” to criticize Atlético coach Diego Pablo Simeone after his 10 years at the helm of the mattress bench, while acknowledging that Real Madrid “is now strong” and that Vinicius Jr lives an “exceptional moment”.
“We are alive in the Champions League, with a complicated situation, we are the current League champion and we are just four points behind Real Madrid. After 10 years, criticizing Simeone is unfair,” said José Luis Martínez-Almeida on Monday about the criticism Diego Pablo Simeone after the defeat in the Champions League against Milan.
The mayor of the capital attended the Marca Awards gala, from where he showed his “surprise” at the non-nomination of Jan Oblak to The Best and confessed his “weakness” for the Ballon d’Or. “Lewandowski deserves to be recognized for his career,” he acknowledged.
“Real Madrid is strong in the League, but ‘Atleti’ never stops believing, we showed it last year, we are going to compete until the end,” concluded the Madrid mayor, confessing that he saw Vinicius’s goal against Sevilla and highlighting the “exceptional moment” that the Brazilian is experiencing.
