Martínez Almeida boasts of his wife at the Laureus awards and talks about the courtship between his brother-in-law and Irene Urdangarin

Smiling, a little nervous and very elegant. This is how they appeared this Monday José Luis Martínez Almeida and his brand new wife, Teresa Urquijoat the photocall of the Laureus Sports Awards, which took place at the Cibeles Palace. This is the first ‘official’ pose for the couple, who married on April 6 in the San Francisco de Borja church. The mayor has resumed his duties after ten days of honeymoon, in which he has enjoyed the paradisiacal landscapes of the Maldives and Bhutan. His wife accompanied him and he finally made his debut in a photocall.

The ‘first lady’ of the council has stepped onto the celebrity carpet for the first time wearing a dress by Temperley London, one of the favorite brands of celebrities such as Nieves Álvarez and Paula Echevarría or royals such as Doña Letizia and Kate Middleton. The model chosen by Teresa is made of crepe with a rosella and black print and is for sale for 574 euros on her website. She has combined it with a silver clutch and a bronze-tone wool scarf.

As accessories, in addition, her engagement ring, a large solitaire surrounded by diamonds that we had only seen on her wedding day.

The mayor, very friendly, chatted with the media: “I’ve had time to catch up, yes, yes, I haven’t been away much either,” he said. “That hasn’t reached me, that’s just what hasn’t reached me, mind you,” he said with a laugh when asked about the budding relationship between his brother-in-law, Juan Urquijo, and Irene Urdangarin: “The important thing is that everyone is happy.”

The newly married couple shared the evening with numerous faces from the world of politics (such as Isabel Diaz Ayuso), fashion (like Nieves Alvarez) and, of course, sport, such as Rafael Nadal (with his wife Mery Perelló and his mother, Ana María Parera) or Marc Márquez (with his girlfriend, Gemma Pinto).
