The PSG player Marcos Aoás Corrêa ‘Marquinhos’ stressed on Monday that the squad wants Kylian Mbappé “to be as comfortable and happy as possible” at the Parisian club, although later “whatever happens to him will be his turn”, in relation to his possible signing for Real Madrid, rival of the French in the round of 16 of the Champions League.
“Tomorrow’s goal is to play a good game, play a good game and win. We want Mbappé to be as comfortable and happy as possible here, he’s fine, with confidence. We hope that tomorrow will be decisive for us, then he will have what touch”, he expressed about the French striker in the run-up to this Tuesday’s match (21.00) against Real Madrid.
The PSG captain insisted that they prepare for games like this from the start of the season. “Tomorrow’s is a very important match for us, it’s the key, it’s a KO competition, we can’t forget this point. The new ones are more adapted”, he explained.
“Real Madrid is a team with a great history in football. When you’re a kid you dream of big games like these, I’m focused and it’s a pleasure to play for PSG, we’re going to fight,” he added.
Marquinhos criticized the pressure that surrounds the team before a game of such magnitude. “Pressure is something that surrounds football, it has to serve as motivation and energy. We are not in a bad situation, we lost the Coupe de France, but we are leaders in the League. Tomorrow we have a very important game against a top team” , he stated.
“Now is not the time to judge the season, it is time to be together and give us that extra strength that we need. We have seen your support recently, we do not want that pressure now, we want to be calm and give our best on the pitch”, he asked the fans.
The Brazilian central defender praised Leo Messi and Neymar as important players within the team. “We hope that Messi plays a great game. As a teammate, I hope to see a top player who is decisive and can help the team. We are going to help him be full of confidence. He is calm, gaining confidence, he is getting used to France and Ligue 1. Neymar is fine, with confidence, the coach will decide if he plays”, he concluded.
