The young point guard Mario Saint-Supéry, 18 years old and 1.91 metres tall, will play next season at BAXI Manresa on loan from Unicaja, to continue growing as a player under the orders of Diego Ocampo, the new coach from Manresa who had the Malaga native under his orders at Burgos, in LEB Oro.
“Mario Saint-Supéry, loaned to BAXI Manresa Unicaja point guard Mario Saint-Supéry will be on loan next season with BAXI Manresa, where he will compete in the Endesa League and the BCL. After an outstanding season in LEB Oro with Tizona de Burgos, he will now continue under the orders of the same coach, Diego Ocampo,” announced Unicaja.
Saint-Supéry, born in Málaga in 2006, is the youngest player to have made his debut with Unicaja’s first team, at 15 years, 11 months and 2 days. It was in 2022 and now he will experience a new challenge in Manresa, in the same Endesa League.
There he will meet again with Diego Ocampo, the coach who directed him during his loan at Grupo Ureta Tizona Burgos since the middle of last season in LEB Oro, with averages of 11 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists for a PIR of 11.5 in 18:45 minutes of play.
After having had a great European Under-18 Championship this summer, in which he averaged 21.4 points (4th best scorer in the championship), 6.3 assists (2nd) and 5.4 rebounds for a PIR of 18.9 with the Spanish National Team, the young man from Malaga “will gain new experiences that will make him grow” as a player.
