The Court of Instruction number 18 of Seville has prosecuted Maria Leon for two crimes in the case related to his arrest at dawn on October 1 of last year. She was accused by the Seville Local Police of allegedly assaulting an agent, an extreme that she denies by assuring that she was “the victim of police abuse.”
Specifically, the head of this court, Maria Jose Morenohas decided to prosecute the interpreter “for a crime of assault on authority and another minor injury to a police officer,” according to a publication Seville newspaper and confirm sources from the Superior Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA) to Europa Presswhich indicate that the car in question is dated June 14.
In this way, the investigator believes that there are indications of the commission of these crimes as a result of the account of the facts that corroborates the report made by the Local Police and the recent statement made by the agents involved in the case before the magistrate.
In this sense, the police report stated that the agents, upon seeing a cyclist circulating on public roads with a crystal glass, intercepted him and performed a breathalyzer test that yielded a positive result, as well as that ten or twelve people began to yell at the agents and rebuke them. Among this group was the sister of Paco León, who recorded with her mobile phone, as reflected in said document, “the moment of that test, for which the Police called her attention.”
At this moment, according to the report, “the investigated person turned to the police officer saying, silly, what are you, the sheriff?” The actress did not carry that document proving identity, so the agents urged her to go to the police station in a patrol car.
After that, according to the police version, several people from the group would have surrounded the patrol car, one of them opening one of the doors; The actress got ready to get out of the vehicle, an extreme that an agent tried to prevent, allegedly being beaten by María León, for which she was arrested.
This same Investigating Court resolved last November the provisional dismissal and filing of the complaint filed by the Sevillian actress against the Local Police agents who acted in her identification and arrest at dawn on October 1 of that same year.
From the Professional Union of Municipal Police of Spain in Seville (Sppme) it was indicated after this dismissal that it was “evident” that the agents “did not commit any aggression or illegal detention.” This judicial decision “proves that the arrest was correct and the result of an attack by the actress on an agent,” the union maintains.
