Marcelino Yesterday he pointed out the best and the worst moment he has had as coach of Athletic in the farewell press conference. “When I decided to come and when I had to say that he was leaving,” he meant. The Asturian knew that he was coming to a different club. He would not have to worry about possible signings. “We thought that at the squad level it was going to be different, but we fell very short,” he said. The support of the players has been continuous, as has been shown this season, requesting his continuity. “It’s the greatest pride a coach can have,” he said.

The one from Careñes also wanted to vindicate the merit of the team, which has reached the last day with continental options: “Fighting to enter Europe with this philosophy has incredible merit. Sometimes we can forget.”
