MADRID, 24 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish cyclist Marc Soler (UAE Team Emirates) has prevailed this Wednesday in the fifth stage of La Vuelta a España, which has passed between Irún and Bilbao, with a route of 187.2 that has been decided with a breakaway that has served the Frenchman Rudy Molard, from Groupama-FDJ, to position himself as the new leader of the race.
The Spaniard attacked at Alto del Vivero and reached the finish line alone in Bilbao, being able to maintain his lead despite the final rush of the rest of the break, whom he overtook by just four seconds.
For its part, the peloton entered five minutes apart, with no attacks between the favourites, although the Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) was unable to keep the red jersey he donned the day before.
