Marc Márquez: “The biggest surprise was the pace at the end of the race”

MADRID, 13 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda) was happy to “ride again” and also to do so among the best in Q2 of the French Grand Prix, where he achieved second place on the grid, and with fifth position in the sprint.

“Today we have had a good race; it has been nice to drive again. Being in the top five was our main objective and we have achieved it, so the team and I are happy after so much time out,” he said in statements provided by his equipment.

The man from Cervera especially highlighted “the rhythm at the end of the race”. “Maybe if we had driven a perfect race in all aspects we could have fought for the podium, but Martín and Binder were very fast today,” he said.

“The biggest surprise was the pace at the end of the race, I was closing the gap and every time I felt better on the bike. Tomorrow we have another race, so another opportunity to continue learning and improving,” he added.
