Marc Márquez: “I knew I had to come back with patience and without mistakes”

MADRID, 18 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Spanish MotoGP rider Marc Márquez (Ducati) said that once he had a problem with his bike on the starting grid of this Sunday’s race at the Austrian Grand Prix he knew he would have to fight back with “patience” and without making mistakes, to finally finish fourth at the finish line and score important points.

“Everything that could have happened to us has happened. Starting with a technical problem half an hour earlier, when a tyre valve broke. They had to change the rim, which caused the tyre to lose temperature. I was concentrating on getting the tyre to warm up and I didn’t engage the front device properly, which was my fault, but everything is a consequence,” he said in statements provided by Estrella Galicia 0,0.

“Luck wasn’t on my side in the first corner either. I thought ‘let’s see how many positions we lose’ and at that moment Morbidelli was coming very fast and we made contact, which is normal. From then on, when I found myself thirteenth, I knew I had to fight back with patience and without making mistakes,” explained the rider from Cervera.
