BARCELONA, 11 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Striker Marc Grau will play for Barça roller hockey for the next two seasons and will try to bring his goalscoring instinct to a team to which he arrives on a free transfer, coming from one of their biggest rivals, Deportivo Liceo.
“Barça and Marc Grau have reached an agreement for the incorporation of the striker from Lloret for the next two seasons, until June 30, 2024,” announced the Blaugrana club.
Grau, 26, arrives on a free transfer from Deportivo Liceo and will reinforce the attack of the roller hockey first team. “I am very happy to be here and I am very excited to start this new project and be part of this great club,” the player acknowledged to the club’s media.
“I come with great enthusiasm and joy. I hope to start and integrate as soon as possible with my teammates and the coaching staff. Any hockey player wants to join Barça. It’s a great opportunity and I’m really looking forward to starting the new challenge. I’ll put in a lot of work and effort,” he valued.
Grau made his debut in the OK Liga in the 2013/14 season. The 2018/19 season featured a campaign at Noia Freixenet (12 goals in the OK Liga) before making the leap to La Coruña, where he has spent three seasons and has shown his scoring instincts inside the area (70 goals in the OK Liga) .
He also has experience as an international, since he won the last European championship (2021) and was preselected to play in the 2018 European Championship. In addition, his brother Carles Grau is a Barça goalkeeper and a new teammate, his twin Àlex is the captain of Girona.
“With the arrival of Marc Grau, Edu Castro will have one more element inside the area. Grau has a great ability to generate danger and is always on the lookout to finish off balls, showing intensity and without avoiding contact to carve out a niche inside of the area. He is also a very physical player, attentive in defense and with the ability to go on the counterattack”, valued the club.
