Manu Fernández is the new Madrid quarry manager

At Real Madrid all teams have ended the season except for the first. Both Castilla and all subsidiaries will no longer compete this course. Therefore, the club has begun to make different changes than it had planned. The first has been officially announced this Thursday through a statement: Ramón Martínez ceases to be director of the quarry to occupy the position of deputy to the general director (José Ángel Sánchez). His place in front of the white quarry is occupied by Manu Fernández, until now coach of Juvenil B.

Manu Fernández is the son of Fernández Trigo, a former club manager, and arrived in 2017 from Getafe. Since then he has trained Juvenil C for two seasons and this last season Juvenil B. Before beginning his adventure on the bench he was also a player in the Real Madrid youth squad. Later, in 2002, he became curious that he played for the Gandarío when his father was second coach of that modest team shortly after leaving his position as Manager of Real Madrid. With this appointment, he will become “in charge of the National Recruitment, Technical Area, Soccer Administration and Training Methodology departments,” the club announced.

In its official statement, Real Madrid also wanted to specify that Juni Calafat maintains his position as Chief Scout (scoutmaster) and that will have direct dependency with José Ángel Sánchez. In other words, Juni maintains his leadership in the club's international football department in direct communication with the CEO. His will remain the last word when signing the most promising young people in the world, as has happened in recent years (Vinicius, Brahim, Rodrygo, Valverde …).

Therefore, the work of Manu Fernández will be at the national level. Organize and supervise the management models of the different quarry teams, as well as coordinating the recruitment of the best young talents of the Spanish territory.

Ramón Martínez, for his part, becomes José Ángel Sánchez's assistant, since He is a man who maintains an excellent relationship with both the CEO and Florentino Pérez, president of the club. His work from now on will be to advise in the different areas of the club, since he knows him in depth after his long career.
