Mancini: “You have to enjoy playing at Wembley”

Roberto Mancini, Italy coach, encouraged his players to enjoy playing at Wembley because what this stadium deserves is “a great game”. The Italian team will face Austria this Saturday at Wembley for a place in the quarterfinals of the European Championship.

“I feel good. You have to enjoy playing at Wembley, because there are many players who have never had this opportunity. What this stadium deserves is a great game,” Mancini said at a press conference.

“We are relaxed because we know that we can trust the players. They know that they cannot make mistakes and we have to have a great match,” he added.

Mancini, asked if he is concerned about the situation of the pandemic in London, with the increase in cases due to the Delta variant, was clear about it: “We have the two doses of the vaccine, so I hope we are well.”

In addition, he confirmed his commitment as head of the Italian team. “It is a great joy to be coach of Italy and I hope to continue being so. I have to thank the players for the great job they are doing,” said Mancini.
