LaLiga has made official the salary limits of the First and Second Division clubs for the current season. The figures, with regard to Málaga, show a figure above what was initially expected: 12.7 million euros. It is the fifth highest League Salary of the entire Second, only below Eibar (30.1 million), Valladolid (29.0), Leganés (26.4) and Huesca (18.6). However, that amount is not really what Málaga has had to make up its current squad. Their recent history in First and Second placed the Blue and Whites in a privileged setting regarding the distribution of the agreement reached by LaLiga with CVC, which meant a six million euro increase in your salary cap.
Those six million are included in the 12.7 that LaLiga has announced as Malaga's salary margin. But the Martiricos club has only been able to use a third part, that is, two kilos. Of the other four he will have throughout the next two seasons, two the next and two the next. Thus, the Real League Salary that the Martiricos entity has had for this season has been about 8.7 million euros.
As AS has learned, Málaga has consumed a total of eight million of its 2021-22 salary margin, 6.2 kilos in the first squad and 1.8 million in the non-inscribable part, which corresponds to structure and quarry. Manolo Gaspar and his work team thus chose to keep a mattress of just over half a million (around 700,000 euros) for possible needs that may arise during the year, either in the form of transfers in the winter market or through any renovation that the club decides to undertake in the middle of the season.
In case of not carrying out movements in the squad during the current season, those 700 thousand euros that Málaga has 'saved' this season will be added to the salary limit for the 2022-23 campaign.
