MÁLAGA-GRANADA | Granada suffers to go to the round of 16 against a brave Málaga

EuroGranada is still alive in three competitions and maintains its fast pace of matches, with this one there are already 30 and rising. Diego Martinez's team started ruling with authority and ended up suffering from the push of a brave Málaga who dreamed of forcing extra time after Caye Quintana's goal at 76 'which tightened the score. Fede Vico and Jorge Molina had put land in between in the first 27 minutes. Málaga rowed against the current and Juan Soriano ended the case as a center forward. The final whistle relieved the Grenadians, who are already in the round of 16. Worthy image of Malaga that rose like foam with the talent of Joaquín Muñoz, who revolutionized the game. The Los Cármenes team is already in the round of 16 of the Cup and Málaga will be able to dedicate body and soul to domestic competition.

Granada, who started controlling the game, soon took the lead. Alexander González fouls Alberto Soro almost on the edge of the area. Fede Vico shoots low. The ball bounces off Escassi, changes trajectory, dislodges Soriano and ends up in the back of the net.

Malaga is disordered in its eagerness to find an immediate solution and what came was 0-2. Alberto Soro easily leaves the suffered Alexander González and centers inside the area where Jorge Molina appears who, after getting ahead of Escassi, shoots Juan Soriano. Again the Soro-Molina connection, highly valued by Diego Martínez, working like clockwork. Third goal in the Cup of the eternal top scorer from Alcoy.

With this notable advantage, Granada maintained control of the situation. Malaga was only looking for solutions with rises on the right of Josua Mejías, who is central, some incursion by Jairo or extensions of Jozabeb and little else. Intermission was reached without another opposing goalkeeper, in this case Aaron, making a single stop.

Sergio Pellicer turned to two front-line forwards, Caye Quintana and Chavarría, in search of the miraculous comeback. A center-kick from Yanis crashes off the crossbar. An inconsequential flash because, as Granada wanted, few things happened while time ran. The departure of Joaquín Muñoz provided a little more depth, but little more. Diego Martínez put Yangel Herrera and Roberto Soldado on the grass for Fede Vico and Jorge Molina to manage the placidity of the final stretch.

At 76 'Málaga entered the tie. Caye Quintana combed away from Aarón a free kick taken by Cristian. A suffering that the Nasrid people did not have. With Málaga pushing, Diego Martínez opted to put Domingos Duarte, a third central defender, to contain the best minutes of the Blue and Whites who dreamed of forcing extra time, oppressive pressure, three corners in a row with Juan Soriano as center forward. Granada, despite suffering, had a draw and continues with its marathon of matches and competitions. For its part, Málaga, brave or combative, died on the shore and will have to focus on the League, which is what will ultimately feed them.
