Malaga closes the ERE with eight players fired

Málaga has announced the end of the Employment Regulation File (ERE) process that it has carried out with first-team footballers. From this Saturday Diego González, Luis Hernández, Boulahroud, Renato Santos, Esteban Rolón, Juanpi Añor, Dani Pacheco and Emanuel Cecchino are no longer players of the Blue and White team. Cecchini's case is special because he was on loan to the Unión de Santa Fe in Argentina until January 2021. A tough process considered essential by the judicial administrator, José María Muñoz, to guarantee the viability of the club, in a very complicated reality due to the poor management of Al Thani.

The ERE has also led to the dismissal of 38 club employees, the closing of two official stores and dispensing with training at the Ciudad de Málaga athletics stadium to save half a million euros. Also that vehicles and homes of the Al Thani family are put up for sale, which represented a colossal waste for the entity.

These eight players, from now on, are free agents and will be able to negotiate their transfer to another club. It is interesting to note that by being part of the unofficially called ‘unemployment market’ they could join another club beyond the market close date, next Monday, as long as the interested team has free chips.
