Málaga has made official the signing of Pablo Guede as the new coach in place of Natxo Gonzálezwho was dismissed from his position due to the poor results achieved by the team during his 10-game stage. He will sign for the remainder of the season and one more, that is, until 2023. Guede is one of the most remembered players in the history of Málaga because he was one of the heroes of their double promotion from Segunda B to Primera in 1997-98 and 1998-99. An idol that people have not forgotten.
The Málaga website perfectly lays bare his career. Born on November 12, 1974 in Buenos Aires (Argentina), he is a coach with a long career in different clubs of international prestige. After a promising start managing El Palo, Guede has starred in the bulk of his career as a coach in South America. Nueva Chicago (Argentina), Palestino -where he achieved a historic qualification for the group stage of the Copa Libertadores- (Chile), San Lorenzo de Almagro (Argentina), Colo-colo -in this club he won the Chilean Cup, the Transition Tournament and two Super Cups (Chile), Al Ahli (Saudi Arabia), Monarcas Morelia (Mexico), Club Tijuana (Mexico) and Necaxa (Mexico), are the benches he has commanded so far.
confessed Malaguista, Pablo Guede is a character well known by the blue and white fans. His charisma and dedication earned him the respect of the public in the two seasons he lived at La Rosaleda (97-98 and 98-99). Not surprisingly, he was the protagonist in the historic thrashing of Terrasa FC (4-1) with a hat-trick on June 28, 1998, achieving promotion to the Second Division in that match.
His coaching career has been very rich and interesting. After the aforementioned stage in El Palo, he made the leap to the American continent to train the Nuevo Chicag in Argentina. From there he went through Palestino (Chile), San Lorenzo (Argentina), Colo Colo (Chile) and Al Ahli (Saudi Arabia). Later, Mexican stage with Monarcas Morella, Tijuana and Necaxa. A home coach with international experience who now faces a challenge: to get a depressed Málaga forward that is five points above relegation. Pablo Guede will be the third coach of the season after José Alberto and Natxo González, both dismissed in a difficult campaign.
