MADRID, 29 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Former basketball player Earvin ‘Magic’ Johnson and Canadian-American writer and editor William Novak are the authors of the biography ‘My Life,’ an account of the career of one of the NBA’s greatest talents, winner of five ‘rings ‘ of champion and member of the ‘Dream Team’ of Barcelona’92, and his fight against AIDS.
Published in Spain by Geoplaneta, in this autobiography Earvin ‘Magic’ talks about his own life, his family and friends, his amazing career in the world of basketball and his brave fight against the virus that causes AIDS.
‘My Life’ offers a revealing insight into the legendary player’s career thirty years after HIV precipitated his retirement from the pitch. From his childhood in a humble family in Lansing to his triumphant farewell with the ‘Dream Team’ at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, through his indelible legacy with the ‘Showtime’ Lakers.
Magic simply and honestly describe their relationship with teammates, coaches and rivals such as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Pat Riley, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan and Isiah Thomas. The result is a personal and intimate account of an incomparable character, but also a portrait of the golden age of the NBA by one of its main protagonists.
GeoPlaneta now retrieves the autobiography of the player who, along with Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, starred in the Golden Age of the NBA. ‘Magic’ is still more topical than ever, because in this March 2022 HBO has premiered the series ‘The Winning Time’, partially based on this title, about the ‘Showtime’ Lakers.
Also during 2022, Apple TV will premiere a docuseries about the figure of Magic Johnson, in imitation of ‘The Last Dance’ based on the career of another of the great myths of American basketball, Michael ‘Air’ Jordan.
