MADRID, 2 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Danish cyclist Mads Pedersen (Trek Segafredo) has won the thirteenth stage of La Vuelta a España, a 168.4-kilometre route between the town of Ronda in Malaga and the town of Montilla in Cordoba, while the Belgian Remco Evenepoel (Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl) continues as the red jersey ahead of a very hilly weekend.
In a stage that was expected to end in an uphill sprint, the name of Mads Pedersen, who also wears the green jersey, was in all the pools to win, and has been able to confirm his favoritism despite the attacks of the German Pascal Ackermann ( UAE Team Emirates) and the Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma) in the last kilometer.
For the favourites, the stage has been very calm, without any movement towards the general classification, which will live its most important days in the two stages of the weekend. Remco Evenepoel maintains his advantage and did not seem to notice the crash he suffered on Thursday.
