Today, December 11, 2020, marks the 20th anniversary of the distinction of the Real Madrid as the best club of the 20th century by FIFA. The white entity was awarded at a gala of the highest body of world football held in Rome and attended by Florentino Pérez and Alfredo Di Stéfano, best player in the club's history and then honorary president of the Real Madrid, to collect the award.
The white club was chosen as the best club of the last century with 42% of the votes ahead of the Manchester United (9.6%) and Bayern Munich (9.1%), as recalled by the Madrid on its website recalling the anniversary. In the year 2000, in Madrid's record there were 8 European Cups, 2 Intercontinental Cups, 2 UEFA Cups, 2 Latin Cups, 27 Leagues, 17 King's Cups, 5 Spanish Super Cups and 1 League Cup.
The original award is displayed in a display case in the Boardroom of the Stadium Santiago Bernabeu, between the European cups basketball and European cups football that Madrid accumulates throughout its history. There is also a replica of the award in the museum of the Madrid open to the public.
