Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv will be Real Madrid’s rival in the Euroleague playoff after beating Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul (85-76) in a match that was postponed from matchday 23 of the regular season, played this Friday at the Menora Mivtachim Arena.
With this victory, the Israeli team finishes fifth thanks to a record of 17 wins and 11 losses. The great performance of James Nunnally, a former Fenerbahce player, led the way for Maccabi with 19 points and 7 rebounds that were decisive.
In this way, the team led by Avi Even will face Real Madrid in the quarterfinals of the maximum continental tournament, a round that is played to the best of five games. The first duel of the series will take place on April 20 at the WiZink Center starting at 8:45 p.m.
The second quarterfinal match -also in the Spanish capital- will be played two days later (6:45 p.m.), while the third will be held in Israel on April 26 with a time yet to be defined. If necessary, a fourth game would be played on April 28 and the fifth has not yet been scheduled by the Euroleague.
