MADRID, 20 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, has been appointed president of the UEFA Club Licensing Committee, the body that assumes regulations related to licenses and financial sustainability of men’s and women’s clubs, reports the RFEF in a statement.
This regulation establishes the necessary requirements for all entities that participate in continental events, which include economic, sports, infrastructure, legal and, among others, management aspects.
Rubiales has said goodbye to the UEFA Development and Technical Assistance committee, of which he was president, grateful for the good work done and has promised to continue working to improve in every way from his new position.
He also thanked the UEFA president, Aleksander Ceferin, for his confidence, who has opted for the RFEF president to give new impetus to the club licensing committee.
For this appointment, UEFA has taken into account the financial management of Luis Rubiales at the head of the RFEF as well as the implementation of new competition models such as the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.
The UEFA club licensing system is one of the largest and most extensive governance projects in football. The main objective of the system is to continuously promote and raise standards in all aspects of football in Europe within a transparent and efficient regulatory framework.
