MADRID, 18 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Luis Rubiales, and the president of the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA), Luis Medina Cantalejo went to Ceuta this Monday to convey their support to the referee Antonio Pozo, victim of an attack this weekend by several players and the father of one of them during a youth category match.

As indicated by the RFEF, Rubiales was also accompanied by Antonio García Gaona, president of the Royal Football Federation of Ceuta (RFFCE) to show his support for the referee, to whom the federation will give all possible legal support in order to present the corresponding criminal complaints against those responsible for their aggression.

Rubiales called for “respecting the principle of hierarchy on the field” and stressed that “violence is not an answer”, while Medina Cantalejo lamented that currently “the climate in which referees carry out their work is becoming impossible”.
