Luis García Plaza, new coach of Mallorca

After the departure of Vicente Moreno to RCD Espanyol in Barcelona, ​​Luis García Plaza (Madrid, 1972) has become the new coach of RCD Mallorca this Thursday and, as the Balearic club has announced in a statement, the Madrilenian is committed to the entity rojilla until June 30, 2022.

The new Mallorcan coach has extensive experience in Spanish football, having managed teams such as Levante UD, Getafe CF or Villarreal CF and has accumulated 270 official matches.

With Levante UD, Luis García was promoted to the First Division and consolidated the team in the highest category to later make the leap to Getafe CF.

After almost three seasons at the Madrid club, Luis García's next challenges were abroad, where he has directed Baniyas CS (United Arab Emirates); Beijing Renhe (team with which he was promoted to the Chinese Super League); or the Al-Shabab Club (Saudi Arabia).

In the 2018-19 season, Luis García also managed Villarreal CF for nine games in the 2018-19 season.

The Mallorcan squad is scheduled for next Monday morning to begin medical examinations and prepare for the 2020-2021 pre-season.
