Luis Enrique’s world dilemma

Spain has one foot in the World Cup in Qatar. La Roja needs a point against Sweden to certify their pass. The National Team’s attack poses as a dilemma for the future. The coach has called 21 players in 30 games to the three most advanced positions on the field. The Asturian’s favorite scheme at the head of La Roja is 4-3-3 and with the passage of the games the tastes of the coach have been seen on the offensive plot.

Shield / Flag Spain

Álvaro Morata and Ferran Torres start with an advantage according to what was seen in the calls of the Selection. Both have gone in 23 games with Luis Enrique. His performance has been very different. The Manchester City striker is the top scorer with the Asturian on the bench thanks to his 12 goals. While the Juventus forward has scored five goals.

Dani Olmo, Gerard Moreno and Mikel Oyarzabal They are also among the coach’s favorites for the Spanish attack. Olmo has played 19 games with two goals, Gerard Moreno has done it in 16 with another two goals and Oyarzabal in 15 games with four goals. The presence of the three attackers seems fixed as long as the injuries are respected.

Ansu Fati is another of the forwards who, when they have been in full condition have counted for the coach. The Barça player has scored a goal in five games. His return to the pitch after 345 days injured was good news for Barcelona and for Spain. But, the last injury has deprived him of going with the National Team and it will keep you out of the way for five to six weeks.

The others

In Luis Enrique’s first matches at the head of the National Team, his bet was on Iago Aspas, Rodrigo Moreno and Asensio. The Celta striker lost his position and, despite having the favor of the public and the unconditional support of his club, he does not have opportunities for the coach. Rodrigo Moreno began playing with La Roja and after several calls absent he has returned for the decisive matches in Greece and Sweden. Regarding Asensio, he started strongly and after losing weight in Madrid he has disappeared from La Roja’s calls.

Adama Traoré and Sarabia represent the two sides of the coin. The Wolves player has played 14 games, however, in the last few he has not counted for Luis Enrique. The opposite case is that of Sarabia. The coach surprised everyone when he called the then PSG player, now at Sporting de Portugal, for the Euro Cup and has since become a fixture. Four goals in 12 games are the letter of presentation of his candidacy to be among those chosen for the World Cup.

The last to join the trials in attack have been Bryan Gil (4 matches), Abel ruiz (3), Yeremy Pino (2), Raúl de Tomás (1) and Brahim (1). Other attackers who have had opportunities have been Isco (4 games and 1 goal), Fortress (2 games and 3 goals), Breasts (6 matches), Fornals (8 games and one goal) and Brais Méndez (5 games and one goal). The casting up front has been wide, but only a few will be those chosen by Luis Enrique to represent Spain, provided I close the pass against Sweden, at the Qatar World Cup in 2022.
