Lugo added their third consecutive victory this Saturday by beating UD Logroñés at Las Gaunas 2-3 after coming back from the match in the second half, in which they managed the match better and achieved a well-deserved victory.
The Riojan team, meanwhile, lacked punch again to take advantage of their best opportunities and, although they went ahead, after the break it was in evidence against a rival with more conviction.
After a trial period between the two teams, Logroñés went further, although in the 11th minute Lugo had their first chance, in which Hugo Rama met Roberto Santamaría, who made his debut in this match after being injured.
But beyond that action, Lugo lost ground to a team from La Rioja with more determination, although little hit, which was able to get ahead in a high shot by Leo Ruiz, in the 26th minute.
Shortly after, in '33, the Riojans stole inside the area and, when Olaetxea was about to shoot, he received a kick from Canella, with which the referee signaled a penalty.
Andalusian Andy Rodríguez, the most effective of the Logroño at the start of the season, scored not the penalty, but the rebound, and after the goal his team delayed lines to manage their advantage.
Everything changed from the start of the second half, in which Lugo locked up Logroñés in their area; In fact, in two minutes Roberto Santamaría saved the Riojans twice, shot by Marcelo and Carrillo.
But he couldn't do anything in the 53rd minute, when his teammates made a childish mistake by failing to place themselves well in a corner in favor; they left so much space that Lugo mounted a counterattack in three passes and the Panamanian José Luis Rodríguez ‘El Puma’ scored.
The two teams looked for their second goal, without success, until in minute 78, Chris Ramos, who had just entered the field, picked up a rebound against the Riojan goalkeeper and did not miss the 1-2.
With Logroñés turned upside down in search of a tie, ‘El Puma’ scored his second goal thanks to a defensive error by Logroñés; and the match still gave for a second penalty in favor of Logroñés -more than rigorous- in which Andy Rodríguez scored the final 2-3.
