Lorena, sole survivor of Tacon in Real Madrid

Two and a half years after the news broke, Real Madrid sports a women’s team in its structure. A fact that has been behind the absorption of Tacon, for whose place in First the white club paid about 500,000 euros, and that has left very curious images. One of them was the fact that el Tacon trained and played during the 2019-20 season at CD Real Madrid in Valdebebas. It was his first year in the First Division and the modest Madrid club then made way for what a year later would be the female Real Madrid.

Within the Tacon squad, some world-class players (Asllani, Jakobsson …) and a large number of footballers who came to promote the Madrid team to First (Malena, Jessica Martínez, Yohana Gómez …) were mixed together. Total, up to 12 Tacon players continued in the team in its jump to the highest category, forming the great part of that squad that brought women’s football to Valdebebas for the first time. This figure is reduced to a survivor today: Lorena Navarro.

The Madrid forward is the only footballer who continues at Real Madrid after having been promoted with Tacon and having played in recent years with the Taconero team and the first female Madrid. Until recently, Malena Ortiz accompanied him, who announced his departure from the Madrid club a few days ago. The Madrid midfielder has had less weight in the white team than Lorena, which adds 17 appearances between the League and the Champions League and two goals.

Together with both The coach, David Aznar, also remained in the first team of Real Madrid until recently. that promoted and kept Tacon in First and led Real Madrid to the European classification in his first year of life. The Talavera coach was dismissed on November 29 after the white team’s bad start in the league, in which Yes, the delegate, Noe Morales, and the analyst, Dani Pérez, continue.

Both also come from the Tacon stage together with Ana Rossell, who was president of the taconero club and who now acts as sports director at the women’s Real Madrid. The three and Lorena Navarro are the last survivors of the extinct Tacon, whose history and name marked the arrival of women’s football to the white entity. The Madrid forward has a contract until 2023, so the soul of Tacon will remain alive until then.

Lorena Navarro, from promise to reality at Real Madrid

The Madrid soccer player, whose delivery on the green makes her stand out in every game, is one of the Spanish promises that has begun to explode in recent years. The ’12’ of Madrid began to emerge very early, with the title of champion in the European Under-17 in 2014 or the bronze medal in the World Under-17 in 2016, where Spain finished third and Lorena was recognized with the Golden Boot after scoring eight goals when she was just 15 years old.

The player kicked a ball for the first time at CDV Vallecas. Then came Madrid CFF and, finally, Tacon, a team with which he was promoted to First Division and with which he became Real Madrid. The change has not weighed him, taking advantage of any small opportunity that David Aznar has given him as a substitute as a starter. Projection to continue growing is not lacking.
