Lopetegui: “We have stopped looking at the opposing goal”

After the draw against Real Valladolid, Sevilla coach Julen Lopetegui gave a “negative assessment because we lost two points. We played very well in the first half, deserving more goals. In the second, what happened to us at other times, we have taken care of what we had and we have stopped looking at the opposite goal ”.

The Basque coach added that “we have lacked tranquility and having the ball. The game leaves us with a rather bitter taste because we wanted the three points and we have not achieved them ”.

Emphasizing the second half of the match, Lopetegui commented that “there was a moment, when Jordán came out, when we once again had the feeling that they were playing in their field. The last ten minutes again, out of inertia or wanting to defend what we had, we have gotten too far behind. It is something that we have to improve. We have to be able to defend what we have, but being able to improve it ”.

The sevillista coach also criticized himself when he said that “it is true that in the second part we could and should have played better. In certain sections we have done it, but when you concede three or four corners this happens. It leaves us sad ”.

Questioned by the two points that are allowed to escape and what that entails in terms of positions in the classification, Lopetegui commented that ”“ this is not the time to talk about the difference in the table. There are teams with fewer games. Now we are talking about today's game, and today's game leaves us with a bitter taste in our mouths ”.
