MADRID, 20 One. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Liverpool qualified for the League Cup final on Thursday, the Carabao Cup, after beating Arsenal (0-2) thanks to a brace by Portuguese Diogo Jota, who was the star of the night at the Emirates Stadium.
Jurgen Klopp’s team, who were unable to beat Arsenal in the first leg -even playing against ten-, resorted to the epic in London and took the pass to the final with two goals from Jota, one in each part. He got the first one after a spectacular slalom and a bitten shot that came with suspense.
And the second came -again assisted by Alexander Arnold- thanks to a magnificent oriented control and an outstanding Vaseline on Ramsdale. The 0-2 sank an Arsenal that tried to get up but it was too late. In addition, the ‘gunners’ finished ten due to the expulsion of former mattress player Thomas Partey.
In this way, Liverpool meets Chelsea in the League Cup final. A match that will be played at Wembley on February 27 and that will crown a different team than Manchester City, which has monopolized the tournament’s record for the last four editions.
