Lidón Muñoz improves his record in Spain but without European final

MADRID, 3 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The swimmer Lidón Muñoz broke her Spanish record in 100 styles on Wednesday during the preliminary pass in the European Short Pool Championship that is being played in Kazan, but she was left without an end, like Carles Coll in the 50 free.

The continental objective resisted both, just as it painted a rough morning. While Italy broke the world record in the men’s 4×50 relay, Spain was left without two finals. Lidón had broken his own record for Spain (1.00.41) but in the afternoon he fell short and made 1.00.66.

For his part, Carles Coll made a great continental debut in a demanding 50 freestyle, in the morning with the second best Spanish record ever with 24.41, 15 hundredths behind the best Rafa Muñoz of 2008. Afterwards, he almost equaled the mark (21.46) but it was not enough.
