The queen dazzled this Tuesday at the Palace hotel in one of the most important events on her agenda: the Francisco Cerecedo Awards ceremony. Lady Letiziaaccompanied by the King Felipe VIhas met with his ‘colleagues’ by profession, the journalists, for whom he has recovered a Felipe Varela dress that is, according to experts, an authentic museum piece.

The Association of European Journalists announces the Francisco Cerecedo Journalism Award every year under the patronage of BBVA. It is endowed with 24,000 euros and a medal designed by the sculptor Julio López Hernández. The winner on this occasion is Pilar Bonet, a correspondent in Austria, Russia and Germany, who has covered such important milestones as the fall of the Berlin Wall. In addition to the gala, the guests enjoy a subsequent dinner in which the queen develops like a fish in water with those who for years were teachers and companions, such as Ángeles Blanco or Fernando Ónega, father of Sonsoles, one of the best friends of Doña Letizia.
