There is a parallel chronicle in this meeting of Doña Letizia and Rania in Madrid: the fashion one. Impossible to tiptoe through this style summit at the Royal Palace of the capital. A palatial setting shared by the two queens who are passionate about trends. Each in their line, but both project enthusiasm for design. The reunion took place this Monday, June 19, in the morning at the Madrid palace, the same day as the ninth anniversary of the Kings of Spain since their arrival on the throne.
The media were at the door of the workshop school, on the other side of the Plaza de Armas. It was very muggy from the rain and humidity of the morning. We were looking for shade. In a few minutes the Queen has arrived. Floral and smiling, she has greeted us.
The most searched moment was the photograph of the first two ladies. The media have seen Letizia star in the anecdote of the day: she has leaned out of the school balcony to check if her counterpart had already arrived. All cameras have captured the scene. Rain of shots. Eight minutes later, at 1:04 p.m., Rania appeared.
The first ladies have then staged that first hug and those first two kisses, smiles and a pose holding each other by the waist. The Asturian consort has acted as the hostess of Rania from Jordan in her lightning visit to Spain together with her husband, Abdalá II. Both have toured the facilities of the workshop school and the National Heritage employment workshops.

This is how I have seen it: Rania, extremely sophisticated, exquisite and refined in taste, maintains a very balanced style in tones and shapes. She tends towards pinks and chalk colors in summer and is very fond of red and klein blue in winter. Givenchy, for the day; and Valentino, for the night, would be his two options. On this occasion, the Hashemite monarch has thrown herself into a winter, black, tube, long-sleeved dress with a detail of floral embroidery at the waist. Very discreet.
Doña Letizia, with a more eclectic and transversal style, surprises us with dresses ranging from the minimal by Hugo Boss to the ultra-feminine lady by Cherubina; or from the urban look of Inés Domecq to the rustic and country look of Maje or Cayro. The Queen touches all suits. Especially in winter. In summer, it will be due to the heat or not, her style script is more cohesive. I see floral, light, fresh and light dresses. For her appointment with the Hashemite monarch, she has used her great summer basic: the thousand flowers. A design, also tube and midi length, in warm, orange and ocher colours.
