There is already a roadmap for the military training of the Princess of Asturias. Leonor, who will finish high school at the UWC Atlantic College in Wales this May, will move to Zaragoza in September. There, at the General Military Academy of the Army, she will begin her journey. She follows the steps that her father undertook in 1985. This was approved by the Council of Ministers this morning of Tuesday, March 14.
The Princess of Asturias will enter the academy at the age of 17. Her parent started her career in the Army in the very center of Zaragoza. She left in September 1985. She was sworn in in October of that same year and remained there until 1988.
The long-awaited announcement that will mark the script for the formation of the heiress has come this morning from the mouth of Margarita Robles, Minister of Defense. It has been by Decree Law approved by the Council of Ministers. Robles has stressed that when Leonor comes to the Throne she will be the first woman to assume command of the Armed Forces.
