Lazio wants Borja Mayoral. The good season of the Real Madrid player in his year on loan at Levante (nine goals in 36 games) has sparked the interest of many clubs in Spain and also in Europe. The Italians have joined the bid and they have done it with force, because they are willing to make an important bet for the U21 international and because their sports project is the most attractive: they will play the Champions League next season.
In this way, the Italians have placed themselves in the lead in the bid for the striker. Lazio plummeted after the resumption of Serie A and had to give up the dream of taking over the Scudetto, but its season remains outstanding. The Romans will play again in a group stage of the Champions League for the first time after 13 seasons and, therefore, President Claudio Lotito wants to greatly reinforce Simone Inzaghi's workforce, that has been proven too short to play every three days. Lazio's intention is to offer Mayoral a long contract due to his youth (23 years), something that fits into the forward's plans.
