Las Palmas goes back to the Carlos Belmonte and is placed in direct promotion to LaLiga Santander

MADRID, 3 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Unión Deportiva Las Palmas did not miss out on Granada’s defeat and moved to second place in the LaLiga SmartBank 2022-2023 standings by defeating Albacete 1-2 this Monday, in the match that completed the thirty-fourth round of the championship.

The team from Gran Canaria was able to come back from behind in the second half at the Carlos Belmonte to add three points again after four games without doing so and stand with 62, one ahead of Granada and two ahead of leader Eibar. The team from La Mancha, for their part, accumulated their fourth matchday without winning and conceded their second home defeat in a row to stay in sixth place, but seeing the possibility of fighting for direct promotion already far away.

And all after the first 45 minutes where Rubén Albés’ men were superior to Francisco Javier García Pimienta’s and managed to go ahead at half-time thanks to a goal on the edge of Dubasin’s quarter of an hour.

But everything changed in the second half, where the visitors reacted and were able to lift the adverse score. Sidnei equalized at the corner kick in the 67th minute and Loiodice signed
eight minutes later the comeback to lift Las Palmas to second place.
