Laporta gets an extension to endorse against LaLiga

Beyond sports performance and the plague of injuries, Laporta had another concern that was nothing less in his day-to-day life: LaLiga ordered him to cover the renewal of the guarantee of 124.6 million euros with respect to the budget before the end of the month (November 29 was the deadline) to cover the losses presented by the closing of accounts that was approved in the last assembly and that amounted to 480 million. Well, it seems that, at least, this concern for the moment is disappearing.

According to the RAC1 station, the government through the Higher Sports Council has agreed for the moment to grant an extension to the Barcelona board to cover this guarantee that would take it until January. And yet one more good news for the Blaugrana club that would also include Athletic Club, Real Madrid and Osasuna (the other teams that are not SAD and that are obliged to guarantee their accounts): the government is studying a proposal to modify the Sports Law through which the entities themselves will decide what percentage of the budget they wish to endorse.

Until now, the law marks that the amount is fifteen percent, an amount that has been unleashed before the budgets managed by the entities that have multiplied exponentially in recent years.

This decision is the result of a series of contacts that the Barcelona president and his financial collaborators have recently maintained with Miquel Iceta, Minister of Culture and Sports, as well as Albert Soler, General Director of the Higher Sports Council and former Director of Professional Sports of the Blaugrana club during Bartomeu’s mandate.
