LaLiga renews audiovisual rights in Mexico and Central America for eight seasons with SKY Sports

MADRID, 10 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga renewed this Wednesday the audiovisual rights agreement of LaLiga Santander and LaLiga SmartBank in Mexico and Central America with SKY Sports for a period of eight years, according to a public statement.

“After an award process through requests for offers”, LaLiga renewed an agreement that will take effect from the 2024-2025 season. “This agreement represents an advance in the value of LaLiga’s audiovisual rights in Mexico and Central America, managing to increase the value with respect to the previous offer request process,” indicates the entity chaired by Javier Tebas.

“The participation in the negotiation of Mediapro and LaLiga North America (‘joint venture’ between LaLiga and Relevent Sports, which was extended to Mexico in June of this year), has been key to revalue the audiovisual rights of the competition, while in other European competitions the value of their rights diminishes “, adds the organism.

Furthermore, according to LaLiga, this renewal also represents an “opportunity” for itself, “as well as for LaLiga Santander and LaLiga Smartbank clubs to continue increasing their brand presence in one of the most strategic markets in the football industry.”

“Getting closer and closer to the Mexican and Central American audience, through an operator that has a stable and long-term relationship with the Spanish competition and that knows the product and has worked closely with LaLiga for more than ten years “, ends the statement.
