LaLiga collaborates with a Christmas menu in soup kitchens throughout Spain

The association of clubs will contribute close to 240,000 euros to more than 20,000 people through more than 90 stores

MADRID, 21 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga, for the fourth consecutive year, will contribute close to 240,000 euros so that more than 20,000 people can enjoy menus during Christmas in more than 90 soup kitchens in 42 different Spanish cities.

With the help of local soup kitchens, LaLiga will collaborate so that those most in need can enjoy special menus on Christmas Eve, Christmas Eve, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Eve and Epiphany, and thus offer them improved nutrition.

Also, as has been done in previous years, LaLiga donates 10,000 fleece blankets to these soup kitchens, thus supporting public institutions’ campaigns against the cold.

“This action means a lot to LaLiga because it is important for us to contribute to the municipalities, through soup kitchens, so that people in the most disadvantaged situation can go to them to cover basic needs. For the fourth year, we want the most needy be accompanied, especially on these dates”, commented Roberto Bermúdez de Castro, deputy to the presidency and director of Institutional Relations of LaLiga.

For its part, the LaLiga Foundation will support for the fourth consecutive year the traditional Christmas Eve dinner of Messengers of Peace for people without resources, which, on this occasion, will be held in the auditorium of the Complutense University of Madrid, in the central San Bernardo street.

Nearly 100 homeless people are expected to attend this traditional Christmas dinner. As the main novelty, it will take place in a cocktail format, unlike other years, so that there is more capacity, “because despite the current circumstances, solidarity continues to grow”, said Father Ángel, promoter of this initiative that throughout Over the years it has been held in such representative places as the Senate, the Congress of Deputies, the Cibeles Palace or the Prado Museum.

The director of the LaLiga Foundation, Olga de la Fuente, assured that it is a “true satisfaction” for said organization to be able to collaborate for another year in this action whose mission is to help people without resources “on such an important day for everyone as It’s Christmas Eve.”
