LaLiga and Santander join the fight against breast cancer by donating 1,000 euros for each goal on Wednesday

MADRID, 18 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga and Banco Santander, on the occasion of the celebration of the World Day Against Breast Cancer, promote a solidarity action in all LaLiga Santander matches that are played this Wednesday to raise awareness about the disease and the importance of check-ups, donating 1,000 euros to the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) for each goal scored that day.

With the action #LevántateLaCamiseta, a gesture closely related to the world of football and the first in the fight against breast cancer, because screening is key in the prevention of this disease, the two entities seek to raise awareness through the television U , where the awareness message about the importance of doing the review will also be displayed.

In addition, the players of the matches played on Wednesday (Real Valladolid-RC Celta, Cádiz-Real Betis, Real Sociedad-RCD Mallorca and Elche-Real Madrid) will take to the field wearing a shirt that highlights the message of this action.

For each goal scored, Banco Santander will contribute 1,000 euros to the Spanish Association Against Cancer, a reference entity in the fight against cancer for 69 years, which dedicates all its efforts to show the reality of the disease in Spain, to detect areas of improvement and launch processes of social transformation that allow a comprehensive and multidisciplinary approach to cancer.

The association is the social and private entity that allocates the most funds to cancer research in our country, specifically, 92 million euros in 525 projects in which more than 1,000 researchers participate. It is present in more than 2,000 Spanish towns, with almost 30,000 volunteers, more than 500,000 members and 1,000 professionals. During 2021, the Spanish Association Against Cancer has treated 136,000 people affected by the disease.
