LaLiga and Globant launch the Master in Innovation and Digital Transformation

MADRID, 30 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga, through its educational department, LaLiga Business School, has teamed up with Globant to launch LaLiga’s Master in Innovation and Digital Transformation to train professionals who will lead and direct the digital and IT areas of sports companies and entertainment nationally and internationally.

This project is one more step in the alliance between LaLiga and Globant, which signed their association last September to create a new global technology company with the aim of leading the reinvention of the sports and entertainment industry.

With this master’s degree, LaLiga and Globant seek to strengthen sports entities through the training of future professionals in new technologies, the greatest growth boost for the industry in the coming years.

The objective is for the master’s students to be able to understand the evolution and dynamics of the digital world, manage and learn about all branches of digital strategy, use new technologies to create commercial assets or streamline operational processes and detect trends.

With the Master in Innovation and Digital Transformation of LaLiga, the educational department of LaLiga intends to promote the professionalization of the sports industry. LaLiga Business School is the only educational project in Management and Sports that allows students to study directly within the “sports property”, without the intermediation of educational entities. In this way, the students receive a direct transfer of knowledge from LaLiga and the clubs that make it up.

In addition, LaLiga Business School not only trains future sports managers with its Masters and MBAs, but also industry professionals themselves, thanks to projects such as the Global Players Program and the ATP Business Program (exclusive training for LaLiga players and tennis players). professionals), Talent Office (exclusive courses for employees of LaLiga clubs to support them in the implementation of LaLiga Impulso projects), and programs aimed at international sports entities, such as Liga MX and the Colombian Olympic Committee, as well from other leagues and sports entities around the world.

For Jaume Pons, LaLiga’s head of Social Media and Digital Content, “in the digital world there are very few absolute truths.” “What is true today, tomorrow is no longer true. The speed at which new technological proposals appear and our ability to adapt to continuous change are two basic pillars to understand the digitization process. It is up to us to decide if we want to be part of this transformation or be mere spectators,” he said.

For Santos Videla, Global Director of People & Learning at Globant, this master’s degree brings together the expertise of two leaders in their sector. “On the one hand, LaLiga as the main player in the sports industry in Europe; on the other hand, Globant as one of the leading technology services companies globally. At Globant we believe in the transformative power of technology in all industries, and the importance of developing talent to be part of this revolution,” he said.

For his part, Fernando Matzkin, Chief Business Officer of Globant Europe, stated that: “At Globant we firmly believe in the transformative capacity of the sports industry thanks to technology to enhance the experience of the millions of followers that this industry has. This, followed by our commitment to train and elevate talent wherever we go, is the perfect cocktail for the success of our first Master in Innovation and Digital Transformation together with LaLiga”.

With this Master, which will be taught in person at the LaLiga headquarters from November 2023 to June 2024 for a maximum of 25 students, the aim is to prepare members for the constant and rapid transformation that the sports industry is undergoing and entertainment, especially in the digital field.

In this sense, this master’s degree will offer a specialized workforce to help carry out LaLiga Impulso projects. With the arrival of CVC as an industrial partner of LaLiga, there has been a turning point in the digitization process of the entire industry; Projects related to LaLiga Impulso require constant specialization and adaptation, and require both the incorporation of qualified talent and adequate updating of professionals who are already working in the Sports Industry.

The program includes international trips to Los Angeles, Tel Aviv and Malaga, some of the best technology ‘hubs’ worldwide, to learn about the latest developments and trends in these areas.

Regarding the faculty, professionals from the LaLiga Digital Strategy Department, Globant and LaLiga Tech stand out, as well as other leading companies in the sector, such as Meta or Twitch, LaLiga clubs and other players in the entertainment industry. such as Universal Music Group or Warner Music Spain.

Next Thursday, June 1, there will be an informative session on the master’s degree at the LaLiga headquarters with professionals from LaLiga and Globant. In addition, more details will be provided in the coming weeks through the social networks of LaLiga Business School and Globant.
