The Competition Committee will resolve tomorrow the punishment that applies to Aritz Elustondo as a result of the direct red that he saw on Sunday against Valencia and in the attempt to mitigate the sanction, the Real has decided to present allegations to the minutes that Melero López wrote after the meeting.

There are two sections in which the Real can try to persuade the Competition Committee to be kind to Aritz Elustondo and the punishment is limited to a penalty game. On the one hand, the very description of the action that cost him the red one. The referee alludes to “kicking an opponent from the ground with excessive use of force” and the images of Aritz’s foul against Wass, at least, allow them to disagree with that account. La Real will argue that the wording of the minutes does not agree with what happened to, if necessary, before Appeal or even Sports Discipline to be able to extend its argument. And on the other hand there is the epigraph in which the “ball shot towards the changing room area as a sign of disagreement” is included, which could extend the sanction to beasaindarra. Here the most that the Real can do is attach the videographic evidence in which Elustondo is seen apologizing to the fourth referee, as a sign of the spontaneous repentance of the footballer. The referee did not record the central defender’s apology in the minutes, which makes it difficult for him to serve as a mitigating factor.
