MADRID, 21 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos, whose contract expired this month, has renewed this Wednesday with the white club until the end of next season, according to a statement issued by the merengue entity.
“Real Madrid and Toni Kroos have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which remains linked to the club until June 30, 2024,” the Real Madrid team advanced on its website.
Thus, both Real Madrid and the footballer put down the rumors about a possible zero-cost exit this summer, since his contract ended on June 30. However, the German will also integrate a midfield next season with Luka Modric, Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Ceballos, Fede Valverde and, now, Jude Bellingham.
After the departure of Casemiro and a Tchouameni still in his adaptation process, Kroos has been able to adjust to the position of pivot, a position he has occupied on numerous occasions this season. With the arrival of Bellingham and the explosion of Camavinga last year, his ownership would not be assured, although his weight in the dressing room is essential and one of his great supporters is Carlo Ancelotti.
Kroos signed for Real Madrid in 2014 and in his nine seasons he has won 20 titles: 4 Champions, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 3 Leagues, 1 Copa del Rey and 3 Spanish Super Cups. In addition, he is already the German player who has defended the merengue shirt the most times and the 23rd in the club’s history, with 417 appearances.
