MADRID, 31 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Estonian tennis player Anett Kontaveit maintained her current great form and won the title this Sunday at the Cluj-Napoca (Romania) tournament, scoring for the WTA and which was played on indoor hard court, after defeating the Romanian Simona Halep with authority 6-2, 6-3, with the added prize of the last ticket to the WTA Finals in Guadalajara (Mexico).
Kontaveit, second seeded, continues to rise and after winning the Moscow tournament last week, he chained his eighth straight victory to lift his fourth trophy of the season, spoiling the party to a Halep, first favorite and who could not stay with the triumph at ‘home’.
On the other hand, at the Courmayeur (Italy) event, the victory went to the Australian Donna Vekic, who added her third title of her career and the first in more than four years after beating the Danish Clara Tauson in the final 7- 6 (3), 6-2.
