King Juan Carlos, ‘goodbye’ to Sanxenxo and ‘hello’ Geneva: ever closer to Infanta Cristina

End of the eighth visit of Juan Carlos I to Spain since he resided in Abu Dhabi. His last outing in Sanxenxo took place in the Nautical Port of the Pontevedra estuary. We have seen them aboard his beloved Rascal. The father of Felipe VI has headed to the Peinador airport, in Vigo, this Sunday afternoon, the 17th. He was bound for Geneva, according to Europa Press.

Juan Carlos I was very happy. He was wearing nautical clothing, a Klein blue windbreaker, mirrored sunglasses and a khaki cap. He has walked along the dock leaning on his cane and his assistant. Upon boarding the boat, he greeted the cameras with his right hand. It was his departure through Atlantic waters on a cloudy day with some fog banks. The emeritus has taken a gold under his arm after his ‘Rascal’ took first place in this first series of the 6 Meter League.

The former head of state has left the house of his close friend Pedro Campos, where, as always, he has been staying these days for a visit. It was 4:00 p.m. this afternoon. From the car he said goodbye to the press. He was smiling.

At the Vigo airport he boarded a private plane around 5:30 p.m. and headed to Geneva, where Infanta Cristina lives. Most likely, from there he will head back to the Emirates.

His desire to come to Spain frequently is well known, as he himself mentioned during one of his visits. Since his self-expatriation, in August 2020, the emeritus has come eight times. In recent months, his visits to Geneva have become more and more frequent. In fact, Juan Carlos’s move to Geneva is gaining more and more strength. He argued this in Fiesta Alejandro Entrambasaguas: “He will maintain his legal residence there (in Abu Dhabi), but in practice he will establish his residence in Switzerland, at least for a few months.” The journalist assures that it is a decision made by Juan Carlos himself “because He wants to come to Spain more frequently and because it is easier to fly from Geneva to our country than from the Emirates“.
