King Felipe VI supports the national team in Germany

King Felipe VI attended Spain’s victory over Italy this Wednesday on the second day of the Euro 2024 Championship in Germany, held at the Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen, and congratulated the players in the locker room after sealing their place in the round of 16.

The monarch witnessed the match from the box and, after the end, he went down to the locker room and greeted the entire squad and coaching staff, with words of praise for the team. Felipe VI highlighted Spain’s performance, joking about the Italians’ own goal that led to the scoreboard, after the many chances that Luis de la Fuente’s team had.

The president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), Pedro Rocha, and the team captain, Álvaro Morata, presented a personalized shirt to the head of State with the number 10, as a thank you and with a nod to the first decade since his coronation .
