King Charles of England announces that he has cancer: “I am already receiving treatment”

The British Royal House announced this Monday an official statement that Carlos III suffers from cancer. He assures that he has been diagnosed after his intervention for an enlarged prostate last week and they assure that he is already receiving treatment. Buckingham Palace does not specify what type of cancer it is or what stage it is in.

“During the king's recent hospital procedure for a benign enlarged prostate, another issue of concern was noted,” the statement said. “Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer”. And they add: “His Majesty has started a regular treatment program today”they add.

Buckingham Palace points out that Charles III cancels his public agenda for the duration of his treatment, which he faces in a “optimistic”: “You will return to your usual duties as soon as possible.”

William of England's father “is very grateful to the medical team for their quick action, which has been made possible by their recent intervention at the London Clinic.” He also adds that he wanted “make your diagnosis public in order to raise awareness and help prevent this disease.”

The reactions

British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has posted a message of support on his “The whole country will wish him the best.”

For his part, the leader of the opposition, Keir Starmer, of the Labor party, said: “On behalf of the Labor Party, I wish His Majesty all the best for his recovery. We hope to see him quickly return to full health.”
