Kevin-Prince Boateng, at 35, has extended his contract with Hertha Berlin for one season. An agreement whose announcement was disclosed in a very special way. The Ghanaian media appears in a video making and eating a kebab and will give away 2023 to the fans, coinciding with the first game of the next season, to celebrate his continuity.

Boateng, who played for Barça from January to June 2019 on loan from Sassuolo, helped Hertha stay in the Bundesliga’s elite by playing a part in a 2-0 win in the decisive playoff second leg. He followed the first match from the bench and Hamburg won 0-1 in Berlin.
In a press release issued on Wednesday, Hertha’s general manager, Fredi Bobic, highlights Boateng’s ability to “set an example and pull everyone along. And those are exactly the qualities we need for next season.”
Trained at Hertha, Boateng has worn the colors of more than a dozen clubs during his career, including Tottenham and AC Milan. A German international in the youth teams up to the U-21, he then opted for the Ghana team, his father’s country of origin.
