Kassius Robertson, new Valencia Basket player

Valencia Basket announced this Sunday, after midnight, the signing of Canadian shooting guard Kassius Robertson, once the deadline set by Monbus Obradoiro to match the ‘taronja’ offer, subject to the right of first refusal.

“Valencia Basket has reached an agreement to incorporate Canadian guard with Jamaican nationality Kassius Robertson (1.90, Canada, 04/20/1994, 29 years old) into its first men’s squad for the next two seasons,” says the Valencia statement.

The player comes from Monbus Obradoiro, the team he was in last season, where he averaged 17.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists for 14.3 credits in valuation in the Endesa League, being the top scorer in the entire competition.

Robertson was educated at Canisius College in Buffalo where he spent three seasons competing in the NCAA, his top 16.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 14 efficiency per game in the 2016-17 season.

The following season, the last of this period, he completed it at the University of Missouri Athletics, where he averaged 16.3 points, 3 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game. In the summer he played in the Summer League with the Atlanta Hawks, but his first professional experience came at German Bundesliga side Medi Bayreuth and the following year he would arrive at Fortitudo Bologna in Italy.

His arrival in Spain was hand in hand with Monbus Obradoiro, with two seasons of a high level thanks to his average of almost 15 points, 1.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and a PIR of 11 per game. In the 22-23 season he signed for Reggio Emilia in Italy where he played just a few games in Serie A and in the Basketball Champions League before returning to Monbus Obradoiro in November.
