Kasper Asgreen resists and cancels the hunt for the peloton in the Tour

MADRID, 20 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Danish cyclist Kasper Asgreen (Soudal-Quick Step) won the eighteenth stage of the Tour de France on Thursday, played between Moûtiers and Bourg-en-Bresse over 185 kilometers, being the fastest of a breakaway that resisted and left the peloton wanting to fight for another stage win in this 110th edition of the ‘Grande Boucle’.

The large group fell asleep, or did not know how to gauge the strength of the four escapees, and the Danish Kasper Asgreen -four times time trial champion in his country and once national champion on the road- had enough strength to beat his fellow adventurers Pascal Eenkhoorn (Lotto Dstny) and Jonas Abrahamsen (Uno-X Pro Cycling Team).

After the time trial on Tuesday and the ‘stage’ this Wednesday in which Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) sank and the leader Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) reserved the Tour, this time there were no changes in the general.
