Kalen DeBoer is going with Alabama, Jedd Fisch is going to Washington, and Cam Ward is going from the NFL to Miami.

Today, Dan Wetzel and Pat Forde of SI break down the events that have happened since Nick Saban revealed last week that he was leaving Alabama.

Mario Cristobal keeps showing that he is one of the best managers in this nation right now. Pat and Dan were astonished to see this happen.

Kalen DeBoer, who was the head coach of Washington, has agreed to become the head coach of Alabama.

A week ago, he led Washington to the NCAA National Championship. The most important question for everyone is whether Kalen deBoer can attract to the SEC. He has big shoes to fill.

After that, Arizona’s director of coaching Jedd Fisch took over as Washington’s new head coach. Fisch helped Arizona become a 10-win team last year, and he should quickly bring steadiness to Washington.

This summer, Ohio State has brought back a lot of experienced players. It looks like the Buckeyes want to spend the off-season in the same way that Michigan or Washington did last year.

Cam Ward, a quarterback who used to play for Washington State but has now declared for the NFL draft, has chosen to move to the College of Miami.

At the end of the show, The People’s Court finds a candy company guilty of false advertising.

At the same time, Jayden Maiava of UNLV has switched from Georgia to USC. It was important for the Trojans to find another quarterback after Malachi Nelson left the team to go to Boise State.

Florida State is being punished by the NCAA because it was found that a coach arranging a meeting between a student and an advocate was against the rules.

The show is still confused about why some people are punished for things that everyone does, but FSU is still supposed to be paid.

Washington said Sunday night that Fisch, 47, would be its next head coach, taking over for Alabama’s new coach Kalen DeBoer. Arizona lost one of its three games this season, this time at home with Washington on September 30.

In his three years as head coach of the Arizona football team, Fisch completely changed it. In 2023, the Wildcats went 10–3 and finished the season upon a seven-game winning streak that included a win over Oklahoma during the Alamo Bowl.

The Huskies took that game 31–24. It was one of 10 straight wins through 10 points or less that got them through to the national title game.

Arizona didn’t let Michael Penix Jr. score a touchdown, even though he completed 30 out of 40 passes for 363 yards.

In 2023, Arizona came into its own as Noah Fifita proved to be one of the best passers in the Pac-12. In 12 games, Fifita completed 241 out of 333 passes, gaining 2,869 yards as well as 25 touchdowns while throwing only six picks.

After a 0-5 season in 2020, Fisch took over for Kevin Sumlin. ASU had one of the worst football teams in college football in 2021, going 1-11.

In 2022, though, the Wildcats made a big step forward. They went 5-7, but in the last three weeks of the season, they beat No. 9 UCLA as well as Arizona State.

Fisch was an assistant coach for a long time in both college football and the NFL before he was hired at Arizona. In 2017, he was UCLA’s acting coach for two games.

In 2020, Fisch was the QB coach for the Patriots of New England. Before that, he worked for two years as an offensive assistant for the Rams.

Fisch has also played in the Big Ten before, and Washington is moving there from the Pac-12. Before he became a coach at UCLA, he was in charge of Michigan’s passing game in 2015 and 2016.

Fisch was the quarterbacks coach for the Seattle Seahawks in Pete Carroll in Carroll’s inaugural year with the team in 2010, before coming to work at Michigan. Fisch has been Carroll’s son Brennan’s offensive coach at Arizona.

Fisch’s first job at Washington is going to be to decide who will play quarterback. Will Rogers, a former quarterback for Mississippi State, was supposed to replace Penix in 2024, but Rogers put himself forward in the transfer window after DeBoer left.
